Kiona Wilson
I’m an aspiring Information Security Analyst with a growing focus on incident response, security awareness, and practical cybersecurity solutions. I’m especially interested in the space where technology, people, and process meet— building tools that make security guidance easier to understand and act on.
Through the DAE Cybersecurity Program, I’m expanding my technical skills while developing hands-on projects that solve real-world security and privacy challenges. My work includes phishing-awareness tools, privacy-focused applications, and DeRexi: Policy Pilot, a policy-governance assistant designed to connect employees with trusted policy guidance and incident-response support.
My professional background has also given me experience working in environments where accuracy, communication, process, documentation, and attention to detail matter. I’m bringing those strengths into cybersecurity as I continue developing my technical knowledge and security-focused problem-solving skills.
Experience beyond the projects.
My professional background combines financial operations, process management, documentation, quality control, and cross-functional collaboration with a growing cybersecurity project portfolio.

I’m pursuing opportunities that will allow me to continue growing toward roles in Information Security and Incident Response. I’m especially drawn to work that combines investigation, problem-solving, communication, documentation, security awareness, and thoughtful use of technology.
My ideal environment is one where I can learn from experienced security professionals, contribute to meaningful work, ask questions, and continue strengthening both my technical and analytical skills. I value teams that communicate clearly, collaborate across functions, and treat cybersecurity as both a technical responsibility and a people-centered practice.
Long term, I want to help organizations make security easier to understand, easier to follow, and easier to act on—especially when users are faced with uncertainty or a potential security incident.
